TICBioMed (TBM) is a cooperative cluster of ICT companies, Universities, Healthcare providers, and Public Institutions that work together to promote eHealth innovation in Spain and across
Europe.
With the endorsement of the Health and Wellbeing Unit of DG CONNECT of the European Commission, TICBioMed organizes the EU SME eHealth Competition. This initiative rewards the best eHealth solutions produced by European Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
Its objective is to support business success of SMEs by giving them visibility together with marketing opportunities to attract customers, partners and external
capital.
Also they organizes in Spain the eHealth Roadshow, which showcases the best eHealth innovation in different
cities since 2012. The objective of this initiative is to help spanish ICT companies to get the chance to get in touch with healthcare decision makers and it is a highly cost-effective
opportunity to gain a wider exposure and feedback about their commercial opportunities.
Legally a non- profit business association, it was founded under the auspices of the Universities, Enterprises and Research regional Ministry. It has currently more than 50 members at national
level between Healthcare, ICT organizations and other stakeholders.
In 2010 the association was awarded with the "Excellence label" for its strategic plan and, therefore, joined the national database of excellent Innovative Enterprise Associations. Also, it
participated in an international benchmarking exercise and was awarded with the European Cluster Management Excellence label in BRONZE (the highest currently available).
Role in project
TBM will coordinate the project and lead WP1 (Management) and WP5 (Fill the gap). Its role is to make sure that the project delivers in time, quality and budget. It will also participate in all
other Work Packages (leading a Get on track event) and lead the subcontracting, and the relationship with the Advisory Board.
